Not content to rest on his laurels, leftfield electronic artist Clark has followed up his recent self-titled LP with a trio of choppy remixes saluting songs by Die Antwoord, Diana Ross and Frank Ocean under the title Winter Boots Part 1.
Zef rap duo Die Antwoord are treated to a remix of their "Diz Iz Why I'm Hot," here labelled "Word," with Ninja and Yolandi Visser's verses now bustling against a faux-brass blast and pipe-clanging percussion. "Hours" reworks the Supremes' "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," pitch shifting Diana Ross's vocals and using above a vine-swinging rhythm.
Frank Ocean and Kanye West's contributions on Watch the Throne cut "No Church in the Wild" are also pitch-shifted, and placed above an ethereal, puddle-splashing beat that sounds as if it were captured in heaven's sewer.
You'll find Clark's trio of tracks down below.
As previously reported, Clark and Nosaj Thing have a North American tour coming up this spring. The trip will hit Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. You'll find the date and venue specifics here.
