Iconic rock'n'roll frontwoman Chrissie Hynde may be best known for taking centre stage as leader of the Pretenders, but the singer stepped out to release her first solo album, Stockholm, last year. With her recent solo tour now wrapped, she's keeping the spotlight on herself, unveiling plans to release a memoir this fall.
The personal collection of her life stories will arrive on September 8 via Penguin Random House, and it currently remains untitled.
According to a press release from the publisher, the book is "an incredibly frank" account of Hynde's experience growing up in Ohio, navigating the 1970s punk scene and coping with the deaths of original Pretenders members James Honeyman-Scott and Pete Farndon.
In a statement, Hynde expressed her wishes that the memoir "would make people dance, have fun, possibly cry and maybe reach for a guitar."
