Chelsea Wolfe

"Grey Days"

As shadowy songwriter Chelsea Wolfe ventures into the Abyss, she has just unveiled the latest in a string of preview cuts from the new album. This one is called "Grey Days."

This gloomy track features a surge of thundering drums and stormy guitar distortion, while Wolfe delivers her vocals in a high, mournful wail. These noisy rock elements are contrasted by the violin, which pushes the arrangement in a slightly baroque direction.

Wolfe told Billboard, "The title ['Grey Days'] came from a conversation with someone I met on the road who had been in prison. He called that time his 'grey days.' It's about something holding you back."

Hear it below. Abyss arrives on on August 7 through Sargent House. Check out Wolfe's upcoming North American tour schedule here.
