As a founding member of beloved Brooklyn indie rock group Vivian Girls, one half of the Babies with Los Angeles singer-songwriter Kevin Morby, and half a dozen other bands, Cassie Ramone has built a name for herself as a prolific artist and talented musician. After the former called it quits last year, she quietly released her debut solo album The Time Has Come, which featured Ariel Pink playing bass on several tracks.

Unfortunately for those attending her unaccompanied set at the Silver Dollar Friday night (June 19), her performance was more suited to a coffee shop than a rock'n'roll bar. Perched on an amp with an acoustic guitar, she seemed uninterested in addressing the crowd, and the lo-fi songs greatly lacked personality. Just when she appeared to be gaining some momentum, a string broke on her guitar, causing her to abruptly cut the set short.
