Quebec City blues-rock unit Caravane released their debut album Chien Noir back in the fall, but they're offering up some fresh takes on the material with a surprise new acoustic EP and accompanying videos — and Exclaim! has got your first access to both.
Appropriately called Chien Noir (EP acoustique), the EP delivers acoustic reinterpretations of four tracks from Chien Noir, though from the opening strums and pounding percussion of "Minuit," it's clear that these are no throwaway tunes. Lush, melodic and ranging from the buoyant bounce of "Briser Ton Coeur" to the darker, more blues-tinged nature of "Harmony Rocket," the four-song compilation puts a refreshing spin on some of the full-length record's stand-out songs.
In addition to the EP, the band have offered up four new videos to accompany the acoustic tunes. They capture the band performing said songs live atop Hôtel Bonséjour rooftop in Quebec City. It's a taste of what you can expect at Caravane's upcoming live dates.
