BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 22, 2015

The Calgary Folk Music Festival is now in its 36th year. Ahead of its latest instalment, which hits Cowtown from July 23 to 26, this year's lineup has now been announced.

There are dozens of artists taking part, and as in years past, the organizers have clearly shown they operate with a relatively loose definition of what "folk music" means.

The 2015 lineup includes the likes of Father John Misty, Colin Stetson, Lucinda Williams, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, Kid Koala, Patrick Watson, John Butler Trio, Milk Carton Kids, Black Joe Lewis, Hawksley Workman, the Wooden Sky, the Strumbellas, Tasseomancy, Socalled, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Oh Susanna, Aqua Alta, Jennifer Castle, Pharis & Jason Romero, Kim Churchill, Reuben & the Dark, Petunia & the Vipers, Lake Street Drive, Robyn Hitchcock, Rhiannon Giddens, EMBASSYLIGHTS, Adam Cohen and more.

Tickets will go sale tomorrow (April 23) at 10 a.m. MDT.

As usual, the festival will take place at Calgary's Prince's Island Park. Get more information about the event over at its website.
