Bun B Preps Final UGK Album

UGK co-founder Bun B has revealed that he's preparing a new album to tie up all the loose-ends before he closes the book and goes solo for good.

Going strong since the late '80s, rap duo UGK released five beloved albums, two of which were gold sellers, including their last record, 2007's Underground Kings, which was their first album to reach number one on the charts. Unfortunately, that momentum was tragically halted as co-ounder Pimp C passed away from an unintentional overdose of cough syrup in his hotel room on December 4, 2007.

The new album, titled 4 Life, is due sometime this spring. "It is my sincere hope that it's a fitting bookend to the legacy of UGK and to the life and times of Pimp C," Bun said in a statement, adding, "UGK 4 Life is an album for the people... For all those people who have been with us from the beginning to those we've gained along the way, family, and friends, the street cats and the squares, the supporters, as well as the detractors."

An official tracklisting and release date are still forthcoming.
