Boris, Shonen Knife Contribute to All-Japanese Tribute to My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless'

We're still a little hesitant to believe Kevin Shields' promise that My Bloody Valentine will release a new album before the end of the year, but regardless of what happens in regards to that endlessly delayed collection, we'll soon have a new opportunity to revisit the band's timeless 1991 classic, Loveless. On January 23, High Fader Records will release a Japanese tribute to Loveless.

Entitled Yellow Loveless (we know, we know), the tribute disc includes covers of all 11 songs from the shoegaze masterpiece. The most internationally renowned artists featured here are rock experimentalists Boris (with "Sometimes") and pop punks Shonen Knife (with "When You Sleep"). See the full tracklist below.

This tribute album comes a few months after Loveless was remastered and reissued, albeit in slightly bungled form. The compilation will arrive a few months before My Bloody Valentine headline Japan's Tokyo Rocks festival in May 2013.

Thanks to Beats Per Minute for the tip.
