Bob Dylan Has Another Album of Sinatra Covers, Says Daniel Lanois

Bob Dylan released his Frank Sinatra tribute album Shadows in the Night last month, but it turns out that the septuagenarian songwriter might have another album's worth of covers up his sleeve.

This news comes from producer Daniel Lanois, who has worked with Dylan a couple of times in the past. According to him, Dylan has a second LP of Sinatra covers ready to go.

"He came to my house eight or six months ago and spent a few hours," he told the Vancouver Sun. "We listened to 21 songs — because he's made two records of this [Sinatra project]."

Shadows in the Night includes 10 songs. Last month, engineer Al Schmitt said that Dylan recorded a total of 23 tracks for the project, but when asked if there would be another album, he said, "I have no idea, I don't know."

Assuming that Lanois is correct, we can except another album's worth of Sinatra covers. Even if Dylan changes his mind and doesn't release another stand-alone album, this means that there's a whole new batch of recordings for his archival Bootleg Series.
