Black Sabbath to Release 'The Complete Albums: 1970-1978' Box Set

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 6, 2014

It must be said that metal legends Black Sabbath love a good box set. Back in 2012, the act unveiled their wax-heavy The Vinyl Collection: 1970-1978, and now the doom lords are delivering a similarly minded CD package dubbed The Complete Albums: 1970-1978.

Following a like-minded digital release earlier this year, this compendium arrives on CD April 15 through Warner Bros./Rhino, and as you'd probably guessed by its title, the package includes all eight of the band's Ozzy Osbourne-fronted albums from the '70s. This includes their 1970 self-titled set and its follow-up Paranoid, 1971's Master of Reality, 1972's Vol. 4, 1973's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, 1975's Sabotage, 1976's Technical Ecstasy and 1978's Never Say Die!

While The Vinyl Collection also added the 1980 concert album Live at Last... and a 7-inch repress of "Evil Woman"/"Wicked World," the CD package consists solely of the studio albums.

As previously announced, the Black Sabbath reunion is still going strong and has the act repping the classics and their recent comeback album 13 on a spring North American tour. You'll find the show info down below.
