Black Keys Unveil Hip-Hop Project with RZA, Q-Tip, Mos Def, Ol' Dirty Bastard
A teaser video at the newly launched Blakroc website features some footage of the Ohio duo jamming with the likes of Mos Def, Jim Jones, RZA, Raekwon, Billy Danze and more. The album will also feature such hip-hop artists as Pharoah Monch, NOE, Ludacris, Q-Tip and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, according to Billboard.
The project was spearheaded by Jones who tweeted tweeted about it on his Twitter page in early June. According to Done Waiting, the album will feature 11 songs and will be released by a label started by hip-hop vet Dame (Damon) Dash and the Black Keys' management group. The recording sessions began in Brooklyn earlier this summer.
