Black Flag Announce 'Victimology' North American Tour with Mike Vallely

Following a bunch of behind-the-scenes drama and lineup changes, the revamped Black Flag are putting the focus back on their music by announcing an upcoming North American tour.

The hardcore group's "Victimology Tour" was announced today (March 18), and it will be the first full tour to have pro skater Mike Vallely on the mic. Earlier this year, the singer, who had also teamed up with guitarist Greg Ginn in Good for You, confirmed that he had taken over vocal duties following the onstage firing of Ron Reyes last November.

"I'm excited about performing songs from the entire Black Flag catalog," Vallely said in a statement. "I feel confident in my ability to communicate the songs — to give them their due respect and yet still make them my own. Ginn's songwriting is truly timeless and it gives all of the material relevance right here, right now."

Of Vallely's new role, Ginn added: "Mike is the perfect frontman to capture what Black Flag was, is and will be."

As for the tour, it kicks off mid-May in Texas and will head up into Canada for a pair of shows before winding down back in the U.S. in June. One of those Canuck shows is the previously announced appearance at Montebello, QC's Amnesia Rockfest, which they play June 20. The night before, they'll play Toronto's El Mocambo.

Below, you'll find all the tour dates. Besides a few festival stops, all shows feature opening sets from Ginn's HOR project and Brooklyn duo Cinema Cinema. More dates are also expected to be added in July and August soon.

Earlier this year, it was reported that bassist Dave Klein, who had played on last year's What The..., had left the band to return to his They Stay Dead project. It's unclear at present who will be playing bass on the upcoming tour.
