Hamilton, ON's Black Baron feature members of hardcore bands like Born Wrong, Snakecharmer and Disgusti, but they've embraced a different sound in their latest project. As evidenced on the new track "Twisted Fate," the results are excellent.
Like many hardcore kids who embrace other genres and melodies, Black Baron have maintained all of the gut-punching muscle of their previous work and channeled it into something wonderful. "Twisted Fate" is built on busy guitar riffing, a pounding rhythm section and some passionately detached vocals. The result is a busy post-punk sound that sees the band poised to snatch the crown from Iceage or Eagulls.
Listen to "Twisted Fate" below. The song will appear on their debut album Abject Skin, which arrives on May 26 via Bloodmoss Records.
