While Björk has the physical copies of her leaked and then digitally released Vulnicura LP on the way this March, fans will also get the chance this spring to snap up new vinyl pressings of the Icelandic singer's beloved back catalogue.
One Little Indian has revealed that it will be reissuing a series of older Björk albums to celebrate the singer's upcoming, career-observing exhibition at New York's Museum of Modern Art. This includes 1993's Debut, 1995's Post, 1997's Homogenic, 2001's Vespertine, 2004's Medúlla, 2007's Volta and 2012's Biophilia. They all arrive March 9.
Each repress will arrive on coloured vinyl in a pressing of 5,000 and come with an MP3 code. The tracklistings remain intact, with no extras added to original song orders. You can find out more about the represses on One Little Indian's web store.
As for the retrospective art exhibit, which runs at New York's MoMA from March 8 to June 7, a press release notes it chronicles Björk's career through "sound, film, visuals, instruments, objects, costumes, and performance." Björk and Icelandic writer Sjón have crafted a narrative "both biographical and imaginatively fictitious," and the installation concludes with a "newly commissioned, immersive music and film experience" put together in collaboration with director Andrew Thomas Huang.
