Want a sip of Bert Jansch's Moonshine? You're in luck, because Earth Recordings is brewing up a new batch of the late Scottish folksinger's 1973 album. This reissue will be out on October 16.
Moonshine was Jansch's eighth album, not including his work with Pentangle. It was produced by Danny Thompson and features contributions from the likes of Tony Visconti and Mary Visconti. Its nine-song tracklist consists of a mixture of Jansch originals and traditional folk tunes, plus a couple of covers. An announcement says that it is "steeped in tradition, often giving way to a more baroque style of folk music."
According to a Discogs listing, this hasn't been pressed on vinyl since the '70s.
The record is available on a deluxe picture disc in a die-cut sleeve. It also comes on standard black vinyl or CD. This is the second instalment in a reissue campaign from Earth Recordings that began earlier this year with Live at the 12 Bar. The label apparently has an "extensive catalogue" of Jansch on the way.
