Barack Obama Curates His Own Presidential Spotify Playlists

Curious about what the most powerful man in the Western world listens to in his downtime? You can now find out, since U.S. President Barack Obama has shared a pair of playlists through the White House's official Spotify channel.

Both of the playlists were apparently hand-picked by Obama himself, and they're called The President's Summer Playlist: Day and The President's Summer Playlist: Night. Each one contains 20 tracks, making for 40 songs in all.

The president seems to have fairly diverse taste in music. The playlists display a particular interest in soul and funk, but there's also plenty of rock, pop, folk and vintage jazz, with lots of material from the '60s and '70s. We can also get a good taste of what Obama has been listening to during his presidency, since some of the songs came out during his time in office. This includes songs from Coldplay, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Fleorence and the Machine and the Lumineers.

The Prez announces the playlists with this tweet: Despite the playlists being intended for different times of the day, there's no clear stylistic or thematic distinction between them. Listen to them below.
