Bankrupt

Rocket to Riot City

The first thing that jumps out at you after pushing play is just how incredibly tight this Budapest band are. From the DK-inspired riff on "Straight Outta Graceland," this five-song EP takes sharp twists and turns through the annals of punk rock history, at times sounding like Green Day covering the Living End on "Years of Disasters" before switching gears to the pop sounds of the early Lookout! Records catalogue. The musicianship is something to take note of: subtle yet with obvious talent. The drums are the standout instrument, helping to keep the songs moving and the listener interested. This is an excellent first offering from this pop punk band, and hopefully there's more to come.
