Panda Bear issued his album Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper a few months back, and now his Animal Collective bandmates Avey Tare and Geologist have released some new music of their own in the form of a split digital single.

The two-song release is called New Psycho Actives Vol. 1, and it's being billed as a "digital split 12-inch." According to a description on SoundCloud, it has been released "in honor of snow on the equinox yesterday."

Avey Tare's half is called "Tape Player Chants for Winter," and it's a collage-style 14-minute experiment that shifts between various frantic chants before settling into a lengthy soundscape of abstract swirls. Geologist's half, meanwhile, is called "Stretching Songs for Spring" and it's slightly dreamier in its shapeshifting 15-minute sprawl. It features cooing, psychedelic vocals from Paw Tracks cohort Tickley Feather.
