Peace and harmony were challenged at St. Louis' "State of Emergency 2" anti-violence concert over the weekend, with R&B artist August Alsina having got into a backstage brawl with promoters over reported scheduling issues.
The Saturday night (January 17) concert at the city's Chaifetz Arena ran into problems behind the scenes as Alsina's camp got into a heated exchange with show promoter Loose Cannon Slim. Alsina had allegedly shown up late to the concert, which also featured performance from Migos, 2 Chainz, Fabolous and Yo Gotti.
A video obtained by TMZ finds the two sides arguing, with a shirtless Alsina being held back from the fray. The situation escalates into a multi-member brawl, with Alsina eventually getting into the melee as Slim was knocked to the ground and surrounded by attackers.
In more positive news about the night, Slim later posted on Instagram that the concert had sold over 6,000 tickets. All proceeds are going towards the Put Down the Pistol initiative, an anti-gun violence program. An exact figure raised from the program was not delivered.
