Art Garfunkel Labels Paul Simon a "Monster"

Simon & Garfunkel broke up way back in 1970, but the duo's notoriously fraught relationship is still crazy after all these years. Art Garfunkel is clearly still bitter about the band's split, since he hurled some insults Paul Simon's way during an interview with the Telegraph.

Garfunkel claimed, "I don't want to say any anti-Paul Simon things." But then he proceeded to do just that, saying this about the breakup: "How can you walk away from this lucky place on top of the world, Paul? What's going on with you, you idiot? How could you let that go, jerk?"

When asked if the notoriously short Simon had a Napoleon complex, Garfunkel responded, "I think you're on to something. I would say so, yes."

He said that, back in the duo's school days, he felt sorry for Simon because of his height and gave him friendship as a sort of compensation. "And that compensation gesture has created a monster," Garfunkel added.

All this being said, when asked about the possibility of another reunion tour with Simon, Garfunkel responded in the affirmative.

"Well, that's quite doable," Garfunkel offered. "When we get together, with his guitar, it's a delight to both of our ears. A little bubble comes over us and it seems effortless. We blend. So, as far as this half is concerned, I would say, 'Why not, while we're still alive?'"

Of course, the famed folk pair have reunited many times over the years. Whether the Napoleonic monster will want to re-team with Garfunkel after these latest comments, however, remains to be seen.
