Ariel Pink is taking a bit of time away from last year's pom pom to help promote an upcoming film called Heaven Knows What. He's contributed a melted soft pop tune called "I Need a Minute" to the soundtrack and has unveiled a self-made, public bathroom-set video for the track as well.
The song itself is a gauzy, pitch-shifted piece rife with slowed-down vocal melodies and molasses-drip beatsmithing. The video was shot by Pink on his iPhone in over 200 New York City public bathrooms. It stars him and Arielle Holmes, whose Mad Love in New York City memoir about heroin addiction served as the inspiration to Heaven Knows What. The clip finds them cuddling on the bathroom floor, navigating planes of privacy in a public setting.
