Arcade Fire and Céline Dion probably don't have much of an overlapping fan base, but they will join forces for a star-studded benefit concert in memory of Denis Blanchette, a lighting technician who was shot and killed at a Parti Québécois victory party earlier this month.

The concert will take place at Métropolis in Montreal on October 1. In addition to Arcade Fire and Dion, the night will feature performances from Patrick Watson, Coeur De Pirate, Ian Kelly and Vincent Vallières, making for an impressive selection of local musical talent. There reportedly may be some surprise guests as well.

Tickets went on sale today (September 25) and cost between $80 and $175. Arcade Fire Tube notes that there will be a maximum of two tickets per person. Go to Ticketmaster for more information.

According to the CBC, the bulk of the money raised through tickets and bar sales will go to a fund to benefit Blanchette's young daughter. There will also be a collection for David Courage, a colleague of Blanchette's who was also shot but survived.
