Having lent his production talents to Kanye West, FKA twigs and Björk, Venezuelan-born producer Arca released his solo album Xen last year, and now he's rolled out a new cut called "Washed Clean."
The track might make listeners jump with its thunderclap intro. From there, it plays out as a series of whooshing elecronic tones separating by quiet pauses. Halfway through, we hear police siren-style wailing and some more of those thunderous crashes. It's not so much a song as a moody, abstract sound collage, but it sets a subtly unsettling tone nicely.
