Angelo Badalamenti to Score New Season of 'Twin Peaks'

David Lynch isn't the only key member of the Twin Peaks family to confirm his involvement in the show's upcoming reboot. Now, it's been revealed that composer Angelo Badalamenti will also be returning to compose new music for the score.

This news was confirmed during a Seattle panel featuring cast members Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne) and Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer/Maddy Ferguson) [via Welcome to Twin Peaks/Fact].

The cast members also confirmed that Lynch would direct 18 new episodes of Twin Peaks, and that North Bend, WA's Twede's Cafe would be restored as the Double R Diner. The cafe had been remodelled after a fire in 2000.

The news that Badalamenti will be returning to the series is great news, since his romantic dreamscape synths (and jazzy leanings) remain an important influence for bands and are a big part of the show's unique appeal. His Twin Peaks soundtrack albums are hot commodities.
