Amanda Palmer Rolls Out North American Tour, Gets Naked in New NSFW Video

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 9, 2012

Amanda Palmer recently completed a monumental Kickstarter campaign in which she earned almost $1.2 million to fund her new album, art book and tour. Soon, the Dresden Dolls singer will be able to thank her fans in person when she hits the road with her band the Grand Theft Orchestra to promote Theatre Is Evil, due out September 11 through the songwriter's own 8ft. Records.

The tour will find the group touring in North America and Europe from September until November. This includes Canadian dates in Vancouver on September 29 and in Toronto on November 9. A limited pre-sale for fans begins at 3 p.m. EST today (July 9) over at Palmer's website, with the rest of the tickets going on sale to the public on Friday (July 13).

For a taste of the new material that Palmer and company will doubtless be playing live, watch a NSFW video for the Theatre Is Evil track "Want It Back" at the bottom of the page. The stop-motion clip for this brash pop tune was created with the help of a tattoo artist, who drew lyrics on Palmer's naked body. A censored version will be rolled out, although Palmer noted that the nudity isn't "sexual or erotic."
