DIY wunderkind Alex G has an album called Beach Music on the way, and he's just rolled out a new cut called "Salt."
The song captures Alex at his softest and prettiest. It sports syncopated drum machine beats, tender falsetto vocals and watery, chiming arpeggios that sound as if they were lifted from a '80s ballad. The song takes a couple of rather unexpected turns, downshifting into an aimless bridge before a brief snippet of church organ leads back into the dreamy groove.
