Aidan Knight Signs to Outside for 'Small Reveal,' Announces Canadian Tour
Aidan Knight first caught our attention with his Exclaim!-approved 2010 debut Versicolour, and the gentle Victoria, BC-based singer-songwriter is ready to rise again with a new album, Small Reveal. While his first LP arrived on indie imprint Adventure Boys Club, this next one drops October 23 through his new home, Outside Music.

A press release explains that Knight and his backup band began the writing process for the set in early 2012 when they cloistered themselves in a cabin in rural British Columbia. Following a week spent at a location with some recording equipment, a cast iron stove and no running water, the band headed back to Victoria with 15 new songs in tow. Ten of them made it onto Small Reveal, including the delicate brass-and-guitars number "A Mirror," which you can stream below.

The album was recorded with producer Jonathan Anderson and is said to feature a "swirling cinematic" sound that Knight chalks up to fruitful collaboration between him and his bandmates.

"Everything from horn arrangements to drum fills, they're things that I could never make up on my own. They're impossible; only happening because of those five people in that certain space," he said in a statement. "I think the most powerful ideas are the ones that we never could have expected. As someone who's worked primarily on his own up until this point, I'm so glad that my best friends are the ones I can share and learn from now."

Just before the album drops, Knight and co. will head out on the road, with tour dates bringing them from BC to Manitoba and back. You can check out the details down below.
