Sarah Harmer Returns with Oh Little Fire
Due out on June 22, the album was recorded with producer Gavin Brown (who also worked on I'm a Mountain and 2004's All of Our Names), and in a video trailer (see below), Harmer explains, "With this record I really wanted to appeal to my love of rock'n'roll and repetition and immediacy of pop production."
Along with several sessions in a Toronto warehouse, part of the album was recorded in a house on Lake Ontario's Wolfe Island, which Harmer says gave some of a songs "a different, kind of country feel." The songwriter handled much of the album's instrumentation herself, including many of the drums.
The tracklist is still unknown, but it will feature a cover Music Maul's "Silverado." Also on the album is the folk-rocking new single "Captive," which you can hear over at Harmer's website.
You can also check Harmer out in person this summer, as she will be hitting the road for a tour that includes plenty of Canadian dates.
