With electronic titans Orbital having broken up last year, band member Paul Hartnoll is moving on with his new moniker 8:58. That project's self-titled debut LP comes out today (March 30) through ACP Recordings, and the entire thing is available to stream now.
Most of these nine songs feature a guest performer. We've already heard actor Cillian Murphy's spoken contributions to the pulsing, anxious "The Clock." Elsewhere, Murphy delivers more spoken word on futuristic opener "8:58," the Cure's Robert Smith emotes on the twinkling thumper "Please" and additional guests include Ed Harcourt, the Unthanks and Lisa Knapp.
