The second floor got off to a big start on the final night of New Forms with the unveiling of a significantly upgraded stage championing bigger sound and the live visual art of Jonny Østrem. Local East Van Digital producer Juri Gregurec set the pace with a selection of rhythmically-charged beats and savvy organics that echoed influences of Yosi Horikawa and Shackleton.

Layers of percussive elements and heavy tempos gave the young Vancouver crowd plenty to sink their teeth into as the room's focus for the night became increasingly clear. Østrem's dense geometric frameworks were a pleasure to feast on throughout the night as they slowly washed over the screen, creating subdued and paralyzing effects.
