Grammy Awards Announce 2015 Nominees

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 5, 2014

The 57th annual Grammy Awards are set to take place on February 8, but the list of nominees is being rolled out over the course of the day.

Record of the Year was the first major category announced, giving nods to Sam Smith ("Stay With Me"), Sia ("Chandelier"), Iggy Azalea and Charlie XCX ("Fancy"), Taylor Swift ("Shake It Off"), and Meghan Trainor ("All About That Bass").

On the supposedly heavier side of things, the Best Rock Song category will see a fight between Paramore ("Ain't It Fun"), Jack White ("Lazaretto"), Ryan Adams ("Gimme Something Good"), Beck ("Blue Moon") and the Black Keys ("Fever").

Adams, Beck and the Black Keys are also up for the Best Rock Album for Ryan Adams, Morning Phase and Turn Blue, respectively, and are joined on the list by Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's Hypnotic Eye and U2's Songs of Innocence.

Also of note, the Best New Artist category includes shout-outs to HAIM, Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, Bastille and Brandy Clark.

The announcements began this morning (December 5) on Twitter, with 82 of the 83 categories expected to arrive by 2:00 p.m. EST. The final nominees — for Album of the Year — will be announced during a CBS special "A Very Grammy Christmas" tonight. You can see the full list of nominees below, as it's rolled out.
