David Wain and Michael Showalter's 2001 comedy Wet Hot American Summer is a true cult classic, and nearly all of its cast members have gone on to achieve major success since it came out. Netflix is bringing them back with a new prequel. Today, we get our first taste of the series via some on-set photos.

It's been 14 years since the original film came out, and this series is meant to take place before it happened. As such, the actors have aged significantly. "In real life we're 15 years older but in the show we're playing two months younger," Wain said in a statement.

Showalter added, "We thought it was funny that in the original we played a bunch of 30-year-olds playing teenagers. Now we're in our 40s and our characters are even younger."

That said, you wouldn't be able to tell their age from these photos, as the actors all look exactly the same as they did in the original. The cast for the new series includes Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, David Hyde Pierce, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, AD Miles, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter.

All eight episodes of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will hit Netflix on July 31. Check out the cast photos below.
