Though Ridley Scott's next film The Martian is technically set on Mars, it's less of a sci-fi flick and more a mix of hammy banter and science experiments in space. Fortunately, he's already eyeing a return to his beloved Alien world with his first Prometheus sequel. Now, he's revealed the film's title.

No, it's not called 2 Fast 2 Prometheus. Instead, the director told HeyUGuys [via Coming Soon] that the film will be called Alien: Paradise Lost.

"Well actually, really it's going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost," he said in a video interview (available below). "So really Prometheus 2 is not going to be. It's going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost now."

He also explained that the title is a direct reference to John Milton's Paradise Lost. "It sounds intellectual, but there's a similarity to it," Scott added.

Alien: Paradise Lost will begin production early next year.
