As previously reported, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have collaborated again outside of their regular duties with the Bad Seeds to produce a score to French film Loins Des Hommes (a.k.a. Far From Men). The official soundtrack release lands next week, but the pair have gone ahead and uploaded an early stream of the whole thing.

The score follows movie music work for films like The Road and The Proposition, and likewise presents an atmospheric soundscape using Ellis' weeping violin, various droning textures, epic and sweeping cinema strings and piano minimalism. You'll find the score in a YouTube video that likewise reveals some footage from the film.

"Very often a tension can happen between music and picture that is about chance and a kind of unknowingness that can be really amazing," Cave had previously revealed of the project. "Just by putting together two things that were created in isolation, music and film, suddenly something quite magical can happen."

Cave and Ellis' score to Loins Des Hommes arrives on CD, vinyl and a digital download May 18 through Sony Music.
