Twitter trolls are nothing new for celebs, who have to deal with everything from sexually explicit messages to pleading for them to come to Brazil every time they offer up a new tweet. Veteran actor James Woods is having none of it, however — he's just launched a $10 million lawsuit against a Twitter user who called him a cocaine addict.
As TMZ reports, the lawsuit was filed against Twitter user @AbeList, whose account has since been suspended. Abe List reportedly attacked Woods in a number of tweets, calling him a "joke," a "prick," "scum" and, our personal favourite, "clown-boy." Woods claims Abe List crossed the line when he called the actor a "cocaine addict."
Ironically, none of us would have heard about this had he not filed suit. Abe List only had 2,274 followers on the site, but Woods still insists that some of his 238,932 followers could've seen the tweets.
He's suing for $10 million. While we have a feeling he's not going to win this one, it could set an interesting precedent for Twitter trolls in the future.
