Director Rick Alverson teamed up with Gregg Turkington and Tim Heidecker for the incredibly dark, only sorta funny film The Comedy back in 2012, and the creative team have surfaced yet again with the new film Entertainment. Ahead of its arrival, the film's been treated to a proper trailer.
Once again, Alverson appears to have delivered an expertly shot, emotionally fraught film that deals with comedy in an incredibly complex way. The film looks to be loosely biographical, following Turkington as he travels around doing stand-up comedy as Neil Hamburger. That said, it looks like a dark journey full of emotional twists and turns.
In addition to Turkington, the film stars Tye Sheridan, John C. Reilly, Michael Cera and Amy Seimetz. There's also a brief cameo from Tim Heidecker.
