Apple Reportedly Eyeing Original Movie and TV Content

In the last few years, everyone's been fighting to turn their brand into a music streaming service. No longer satisfied with audio streaming, however, the next big step is to hop on the original programming bandwagon. Amazon has Transparent, Hulu Plus has Difficult People, and Netflix has everything from Bloodline and House of Cards to racist Adam Sandler movies. Following this year's launch of Apple Music, the computer giant is apparently looking for some original programming of their own.

As Variety reports, the tech giant has reportedly been in talks with a number of Hollywood executives, hoping to get in on that exclusive content of their own. While nothing has been confirmed, and Apple declined to comment, the Apple reps meeting with execs report to Apple's original content head Eddy Cue.

Since it's all speculative at this point, Variety explains that different sources are suggesting different things. Some are saying that Apple's just flirting with the idea, while others suggest they've got their eyes on taking down Netflix and becoming the top streaming service.

Whatever the case, we won't be surprised if they end up cranking out TV shows and movies of their own. Soon every website, company and blog will probably double as their own streaming service. When will it end?
